July - the monthly roundup

I know it isn't quite the end of July yet, but I am particularly busy from now until the end of the month so thought I would post my July roundup slightly early.
July has been one roller coaster of emotions.

At the beginning of the month the school holidays started and we took a trip up to 'Wick' to visit family.  For those of you who don't know, Wick is a small town at the very top of Scotland, around 40 miles from John O'Groats.  Some of the loveliest scenery you will ever see is up in the Scottish Highlands.  We found a hotel named 'Mackay Hotel', we thought this was a great photo opportunity!

Sadly I lost my Grandad two short weeks ago.  Grandad would have been 94 on his birthday at the end of August.  Grandad was one of the most inspirational people I am blessed to have known and everything I've done in life he played a part, to that I am forever thankful.  My Grandparents would be celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary next year.  To me they are legends.

My littlest boy, my baby, Darcy Morgan turned 5! Darcy will start school in August, though I think he has been ready for a while. His Dad, my husband, is a Saturation Diver.  Dad couldn't be home to celebrate with us but he sent Darcy a Happy Birthday message from the deepest depths of the North Sea - truly  epic.

I am super proud of my little sister Kristy.  Last week Kristy graduated, for the second time, with a Masters in Oil & Gas Law (her first degree was her LLB).  I wish I had been given some of her brains.  Not only is she super beautiful, super smart too - very unfair.  To celebrate we had a champagne and a wonderful meal at Malmaison in Aberdeen.

July also saw me complete my first 10km race and my children compete in their first 'fun run' - medals all round.

I am Maid of Honour next week to my friend Sami and I got the kids decked out in their full Scottish wear last week, they are going to look great. They will be wearing the 'Loch Ness' Tartan.

Finally, a month wouldn't be the same without a few #selfies, outfit of the days - a wardrobe clear out and a haul!

love Laura x
