My first Tattoo - Tiny Birds

Draconian Tattoo Aberdeen
I have always 'talked' a good tattoo but have never had the courage to actually book one myself.  It is something that was on my 'before 30 list' but the best I did was a henna motif on my ankle, last July in Ibiza.  Wuss.    My bestie, Sami, has lots of them and they really suit her.  I am going to be Maid of Honour for her in August.  We have also been friends coming up for 18 years now.  We were best friends all through school and we got up to some mischief.  To celebrate this and as a Maid of Honour present, Sami suggested we get a matching tattoo.  I thought that this was an amazing idea, what a unique gift to someone.    I wasn't completely certain anything would come of it but she called a fortnight ago and said 'that's us booked in, you can't chicken out - i've paid the deposit!'.  Yikes  I thought!

Originally we were going to get a tiny heart on the wrist, however, I have always loved tiny bird tattoos, I thought they were really pretty, so the night before, thought I would chance my luck and suggest a change of design.  Surprisingly, I didn't have to try hard at all.

The Camouflage Company London - 3 Piece Cosmetic Bag Set
You can never have enough makeup storage at home though, It can be a bit of a dilemma when it comes to weekend break planning.  The Camouflage Company London very kindly sent me this really pretty 3 piece cosmetic bag set to test drive.   I took it with me on my trip to Edinburgh earlier this month for my husbands 40th.

The blue and white motifs that are used in the design of these bags are absolutely stunning, very charming.

Steam Cream Moisturiser - Limited Edition Tin, Precious

Steam Cream is proving more popular by the second with its 3-in-1 formula which can be used on Face, Hands and Body.

Suitable for all skin types, Steam Cream, is completely vegan, completely natural. Hand made using natural ingredients such as lavender essential oil and orange flower water.  Many people have said that steam cream has helped clear up their Eczema outbreaks and I have to agree.  I often get outbreaks on my neck and there is something in Steam cream that has definitely made a difference to it and seems to keep it at bay.

Lily Lolo treats & gorgeous rebranding

Lily Lolo are fast becoming one of my favourite makeup brands.  For ages, I was under the impression that they were fairly new however, after doing my homework, realised that they have in fact been on the go since 2005!

This mineral makeup brand is truly stunning, their packaging has always been gorgeous to me.  Well, they have only gone and outdone themselves with a complete rebrand!  I describe it as fresh, classy and oozes sophistication. The clean white canvas with the beautifully designed black motifs brings them to another level.  It gives the make up a premium, expensive feel - the best part being the prices stay affordable.    To celebrate their rebranding launch I was very kindly sent over some gorgeous goodies. January Favourites 2014

Late as usual with the monthly favourites post but hands up if you are glad January is over!  It seemed to go on forever!  Must be the comedown from the festive period - now all that weighs on our minds is the size of our bank balances and our waists.

However, January wasn't a complete drag, I did manage to muster up some favourites for you.

Massage Oils - Perfect for date night.

The winter months take their toll on us all and like many, I have been smothered in the cold more times than I had turkey dinners at Christmas and believe me, there were a lot of dinners!   Fed up of achy joints I was raking through all my lotions and potions and came across this Bochery Nature Massage Oil that had been sent to me a while ago and had one of those light bulb moments - much to my husbands dismay.

So, date night comes along and I suggest giving each other a massage using the oil.  He manked and moaned about it so I let him have the first one and it is safe to say he wasn't extremely willing to take his turn, in fact he was practically asleep.  He was a trouper and took his turn and it was absolutely wonderful.

Fitbit Aria & Fitbit Flex - my new best friends

Let me introduce you to my new best friends  - Fitbit Aria and Fitbit Flex.

If you follow me on any of the social media sites you will know that I have 3 sets of Bridesmaids duties this year which = 3 dresses, which = time to slim a little.   Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to shed lots of weight but I'd like to zap the wings and the muffin top that I have for a long time now, developed a close relationship.  It's now time to 'break up'.  A Scottish Lass will become  #askinnierlass and you can use that hashtag to track my progress if you so wish.

Merumaya - Youth Preservation Moisturiser

Today, I am sharing with you this lovely moisturiser from Merumaya - Integrative Effective Skincare £29.50*.  Now, I have very dry skin and it has a temper, a daily battle with breakouts and dry patches.  It is strange actually because I get quite a lot of compliments about my skin which completely baffles me.  I always put it down to the fact I wear a fair bit of makeup.

I was asked in November if I would like to try Merumaya's Youth Preservation Moisturiser and I agreed.  I have to admit that I was really sceptical about this, it makes me feel quite nervous when it comes to changing my moisturiser, or cleansing routines as I feel i'm just asking for skin trouble.  However!

Birchbox February 2014

Today I received my Birchbox for February 2014 - called 'Tiny Tweaks' January 2014. I did received my January box in early January but hoping this is an administrative error and the February boxes haven't yet been posted.  Little concerning given I received an email to say that my subscription had been debited for this month.
