New Look Summer Wish List

I'm not going to lie - I am no skinny lass, I am a curvy lass and as much as I have tried my whole life to be a skinny one I have come to realise that will never happen, it isn't in my bone structure.  I am a good sized 14-16 - fairly happy with that, my problem is toning up.

I am also quite tall - at 5ft 10, so sometimes buying clothes is challenging.   Take a dresses, for example, many of the lengths are tailored for the UK average girl height 5ft 8.  Which means many dress cuts just don't flatter my figure the waistline comes up to my boobs. Also why do they have to be so short - I am no prude but crickey.   Dresses my sister would wear - I would wear as tunics or tops.

Anyway, with summer creeping up on us I have been looking for some wardrobe inspiration.  I have put together my recent New Look wish list - which I will be buying to wear at a Blogger event coming shortly.   I love the variety of clothing New Look stocks and I find their website easy to navigate - It is very handy to have available when I can not always make it into town.  Exceptionally fast delivery means I save on petrol.

I am a huge fan of the leather biker jacket at the moment, It takes me back to my teens when it was a staple part of my wardrobe.  I have it in black at the moment but have been keeping my eye out for a really nice brown one that won't break the bank.    This particular jacket I have picked is a respectable £59.99.  Team this up with this stylish lace dress gives a perfect summer look - which can be dressed up or down.  My favourite thing about the lace dress is the dipped hem because when dresses are too short, I can't carry them off, the dipped hem is very flattering - £42.00.

I chose the wedge sandals because I am terrible in heals, 99% of the time I trip. These are perfect for giving me the height I desire but comfortably safe too - £49.99.

To round the outfit off I have picked these amazing Aztec jewellery pieces.  I was drawn to them because of the colours and I particularly like wearing statement pieces.  These each cost £6.99 - bargain.

Now all I have to decide is to match the makeup for it.

What do you think of my choices, perhaps you can give me some tips?

  2. I love New Look - I so wish that we had it in my country! Every time I visit London, I always buy so much there. And I am with you on the dress lengths. I'm 5'9 and I find that a lot of dresses are always CRAZY short on me. It can be really frustrating!

  7. I know exactly how you feel with finding clothes to fit difficult I am a size 12 on bottom 12 on top but where my bra size is 36" DD my waist is only 28" finding a dress that the waist part doesn't just become 'the boob holder' is impossible at times especially if I'm looking for a fitted dress! argh! The outfit you've chosen is exactly the kin of thing I wear now although my leather jacket has gone to leather jacket heaven now, so I am looking out for a new one too and that one looks gorgeous!

  8. Love the outfit Laura -especially the jacket, just bought a similar one from Zara in black - no doubt I'll just wear it with jeans and tshirts because all I ever seem to wear are my jeans! Not very adventurous with my clothes at the moment! The wedges are great - always loved wedges - they look funky (love that word funky!) xx

  9. The jewellery and sandals are gorgeous, some lovely items for summer. I really like that you chose a brown jacket as this is so much softer for the warmer weather that we hopefully will have again soon :)
